My name is Megan Hernandez and I’m 25 years old. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease four years ago but I had stomach issues all growing up. I’ve been to traditional doctors, natural doctors and a nutritionist but none of them seemed to have the right advice for me. After listening to each one and following their health regimen, my health continued to get worse. I was also diagnosed with anemia, adrenal fatigue and test results showed low hydrochloric acid, a sluggish pancreas and a bad bacterial overgrowth paired with a yeast overgrowth/candida. For a long time I have struggled with chronic diarrhea, bad acne, severe irritability and major fatigue. I recently discovered that I was not ovulating and my periods have always been unbearable. I use to look like an alligator with dry, cracking skin and lips and my memory was fading quick. With bad advice from my doctors, I did my own research and tried many diets including paleo, high fat vegan, the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, etc. That’s when I found my Health Coach, Ashley Clark and the 80/10/10 diet. I have been following the 80/10/10 diet for about six months now and I have seen the most improvements in my health so far. I even started ovulating for the first time in my life just after eating raw fruits and veggies for two months! I thank God constantly for opening my eyes to this diet and leading me to Ashley.
Why I was inspired to work with Ashley:
I went to many doctors in the past and none of them knew how to help me feel better. I saw Ashley’s story on her website and saw that she had cured herself from her symptoms of Celiac Disease. To me, it made more sense to listen to someone who has been in my shoes and struggled with poor health herself.
What I enjoyed about Ashley's program:
I loved that Ashley was very quick at responding to my emails. I went through a lot of emotional and physical detox in the first three months and her knowledge and support helped me not freak out and get through the detox. I also really liked Skype-ing with Ashley. She is the kindest and most inspiring person I have ever met.
The most significant results I've experienced in my health since starting the program are:
1. I started ovulating for the first time, I’m 25 years old.
2. I have no more symptoms of Candida
3. I no longer have sever acne. I occasionally get minor breakouts when I detox.
4. My bowel movements have greatly improved. I no longer have chronic watery diarrhea.
In what ways do you anticipate what you’ve learned will impact your life?
My next step is to continue following the 80/10/10 raw vegan diet. I anticipate having kids and raising them on a raw vegan diet with my husband who also now follows a low fat vegan diet. I look forward to living a healthy life with my family!

"The benefits I've experienced going vegan have been numerous and sometimes unexpected. I've had skin issues on and off since I was a teen and I thought that when I went vegan that these issues would go away quickly. I was wrong. In fact, my skin issues seemed to get worse! I knew my diet changes were good for me, but every day when I looked in the mirror, I felt ashamed and discouraged. Although I felt much better and had lost 30 lbs, I wondered why acne continued to plague me.

With her guidance, I made small changes in how I was eating and how I was taking care of myself. My skin did not clear up overnight. It took longer than I expected and even got worse for a while (possibly detox). Ashley was right there reminding me to keep going and that although it was taking longer, my results would be worth it (and lasting). "I worked with Ashley over 3 month time period. I found it very beneficial to work with her as she gave me lots of good tips and advice. Ashley was always there to support me, whether I had a question about a recipe or if I was having difficulties eating healthy. She was very encouraging if I felt like I had fallen off my “wagon” to get back on and keep going. One of the major things that she helped me change was how much water I was drinking. We tried different ways for me to increase my water intake and over time it worked. Today I’m drinking about 2500-3000ml of water a day.
